Built with coaches, for every coach.
Two weeks, three pieces of good news. A coach selected for a global pharma coaching pool, with his own AI written into the proposal. An EMCC research grant for a study built on CoachNova. And what we are building next in Coach AI, together with you.
Achim AI, written into a winning proposal.
Achim Nowak is a Global C-Suite Coach, 4x Author and 3x TEDx Speaker.
When a global pharma company asked for proposals for its executive coaching pool, Achim wrote Achim AI into his. His clients would get Achim in the room, and his method working with them between and beyond sessions. The company selected him for the pool.
Now Achim, his team and Nick are fine-tuning Achim AI together, so it sounds like Achim before any client meets it. His books, his writing and his sessions are all in there.
The best part is that every improvement we make with Achim reaches every coach on CoachNova. That is what co-creation means to us.
Does the AI see what an experienced coach sees?
When a client is stuck, they are often pulled between two good things. Dr Roger Maitland, Research Fellow at Stellenbosch Business School, studied this with 24 experienced coaches and published three of these pulls:
- 1Now or later: staying present, or working towards the future.
- 2Me or the system: what I can change myself, or the system around me.
- 3Adapt or direct: responding as things unfold, or holding a clear direction.
His new study asks one simple question: when the AI reads a real coaching session, does it spot the same pull an experienced coach sees? About ten coaches take part, and the results are published in 2027, whatever they show.
Roger has just won an EMCC research grant for the study, and it has been submitted for review to the Stellenbosch University Research Ethics Committee. CoachNova is the technology partner. Roger also advises CoachNova.
We are recruiting ten coaches to take part. Interested in joining the study? Send us an email. We’ll be in touch once ethics approval is confirmed.
Coaching, mentoring, or both? You decide, per client.
We’re co-creating Coach AI with coaches like you. In our co-creation sessions, we often hear that pure coaching is too narrow for what a client actually needs. Some clients need a good question. Others need options, a framework, or a skill they have never had to build.
So Coach AI is getting three settings you adjust for each client:
- 1Coaching to mentoring: from asking questions to offering options and resources.
- 2Holding space to pushing further: how much it challenges.
- 3The person to the issue: where it puts its attention.

We’ll talk about this on the Coach Community Call on 5 October. Come and tell us which settings you want.

“Can my client start with Coach AI straight away?”
Almost. Session notes, session prep and messaging work from your very first session. After 3 sessions, Coach AI is ready for your test drive. It works from your sessions with that client, so that is how it gets to know them, and not a generic version of them. You try it out as your client first, and switch it on when it sounds like you.
Working with past clients who want to continue the work? Upload the transcripts you already have, and your test drive can start from there.
Want to map it out for your own practice? Book a call and let’s work it through together.
